INNOVATION
Designed and tested at the NeilPryde Maui Design Center by Robert Stroj, then refined through feedback from our riders around the world. No detail was overlooked in our relentless pursuit of being the best at what we do.
In 2026, we proudly introduce Apex — a new generation wave sail redefining performance.
Built for riders who demand power, stability, and control without sacrificing lightness and agility, Apex combines the DNA of the award-winning Combat with added low-end power and consistent balance. The result is a true wave sail with a silky, effortless feel that improves your riding in gusty or extreme wind.
Offering the broadest range of use of any of our sails and creating the illusion of lightness in your hands, Apex delivers plenty of low-end power, direct feel on the wave and in the air, and great top-end control. Our team riders have fallen in love with this sail — we're sure you will too!
CONSTRUCTION:
- Q-Bonded Aramid Pro Fuse in the tack and clew
- Lightweight Ultra Scrim in the upper panels
- Ripstop Taffeta X-Ply luff laminate
- Ultra-clear window panels
- Best visibility on the wave
- The lightest and most responsive construction
Sail features:
Drive and acceleration
Apex develops the DNA of the award-winning Combat, taking low-end power, drive, and acceleration to a new level. Ideal for conditions from onshore to side-off — it will let you jump higher and get onto waves faster than ever before.
Wide wind range
Taller and slightly wider than Combat, Apex was designed to get going faster in the low end and handle more wind at the top end thanks to a narrower luff and higher aspect ratio.
Stability
A newly designed luff curve and 3D sail modeling made it possible to create a stable sail that doesn't feel stiff in your hands. Effortless pumping, early planing, high speeds, and comfortable stability even in the strongest winds.
4 / 5 batten layout
To meet the demands of high-performance windsurfing across the entire wind range, Apex has 5 battens in the larger sizes (5.5–6.3) and 4 battens in the smaller ones (3.6–5.1). This allows us to deliver maximum performance with the optimal stability-to-weight ratio across the range.
Increased size spacing
Thanks to Apex's expanded wind range, we were able to increase the spacing between sizes to cover a wider range of conditions with fewer sails — making storage and travel easier.
Replacing Atlas
Compared with Atlas, Apex is significantly more maneuverable and easier to handle. With a new outline and a 4-batten configuration from 5.1 and down, it feels more like a Combat on steroids than an Atlas. Instant power to get going and jump as high as possible, while remaining extremely agile on the wave.
