Discover the all-new Apex — a new generation wave sail that redefines performance. Our Apex in a 4–5 batten setup complements the legendary Combat, focusing on explosive jumps, a wide wind range, and full control even when overpowered. Built for riders who demand power, stability, and control without sacrificing lightness or agility, Apex combines the DNA of the award-winning Combat with extra low-end power and unwavering balance. The result is a true wave sail with a silky, effortless feel that elevates your riding in gusty or extreme conditions. Apex HD uses Power HD technology in the tack and clew, with Ultra-PE fibers precisely laid along the load paths, delivering quick response, maximum durability, and sharp control. The HD version features an X-Ply window panel for extra strength and even lower weight.
INNOVATION
Designed and tested at the NeilPryde Maui Design Center by Robert Stroj, then refined through feedback from our team riders around the world. No detail was overlooked in our ongoing pursuit of being the best at what we do.
In 2026, we proudly introduce Apex — a new generation wave sail redefining performance.
Built for riders who demand power, stability, and control without giving up lightness and agility, Apex combines the DNA of the award-winning Combat with extra low-end capability and consistent balance. The result is a true wave sail with a silky, effortless feel that improves your riding in gusty or extreme conditions.
Offering the widest range of use of any of our sails and feeling surprisingly light in the hands, Apex delivers plenty of low-end power, direct feel on the wave and in the air, and excellent top-end control. Our team riders have fallen in love with this sail — we’re sure you will too!
CONSTRUCTION:
- Laminated Power HD in the tack and clew
- Black, tri-axial Ultra-PE panels in the upper section
- Ultra-PE in the leech and head of the sail
- Ripstop Taffeta X-Ply laminate in the luff panel
- Ultra-PE X-Ply window panel
- Our most durable construction
Sail features:
Drive and acceleration
Apex develops the DNA of the award-winning Combat, taking low-end power, drive, and acceleration to a new level. Ideal for conditions from onshore to side-off — Apex lets you jump higher and catch waves faster than ever before.
Wide wind range
Taller and slightly wider than the Combat, Apex was designed to react faster in the low end and handle more wind in the top end thanks to a narrower head and higher aspect ratio.
Stability
A newly designed luff curve and 3D sail shaping have created a stable sail that doesn’t feel stiff in the hands. Effortless pumping, early planing, high speeds, and comfortable stability even in the strongest winds.
4 / 5 batten layout
To meet the demands of high-performance windsurfing across the entire wind range, Apex has 4 battens in the smaller sizes (3.6–5.1) and 5 battens in the larger ones (5.5–6.3). This allows maximum performance for each size with an optimal stability-to-weight ratio across the range.
Increased size spacing
Thanks to Apex’s expanded wind range, we were able to increase the spacing between sizes, covering a wider range of conditions with fewer sails — making storage and travel easier.
Replacing the Atlas
Compared with the Atlas, Apex is significantly more maneuverable and easier to handle. With its new outline and 4-batten configuration from 5.1 down, it feels more like a Combat on steroids than an Atlas. Instant power to get going and jump as high as possible, while maintaining extreme agility on the wave.
