Snowboard Nidecker 2023 - The Mosquito 148
The shortest model in the range of surf-inspired boards, the Mosquito is built for dropping into bottom turns, riding the edge, and blasting through them. This is a powder-focused board that performs best when ridden from the back foot, but its agility makes it surprisingly versatile. From January tree lines to icy gullies or spring slush, the Mosquito’s compact shape combined with aggressive sidecut makes turns lightning fast. The Surfy Camrock profile features a lively camber between the feet that smoothly transitions into an extended rocker at the nose, increasing float and helping you get through the roughest sections.
Like your favorite surfboard, it weighs almost nothing thanks to the poplar/paulownia core, the lightest in our range. The board has been wrapped in a unique combination of triax and biax fiberglass, delivering response and playfulness in equal measure, with the topsheet wrapping around the rails along with narrow ABS sidewalls. This exclusive technology transfers even more power to the edge and provides a finish straight from the shaping bay. See you off-piste.
Characteristics
NIDACTIVE CONSTRUCTION
This new construction really put Nidecker's engineers' experience and expertise to the test during research and development and production. The precision required to bond the different layers of material is measured in tenths of a millimeter. A CAP construction was used for the nose and tail, while the riding section features 2 mm sidewalls with a machine-rounded core to achieve optimal fluid flow properties and power transfer to the edges.
ABSORBENT DECK COVER
Absorbnid is an innovative top layer designed to absorb unwanted vibrations. This made it possible to develop responsive, dynamic boards that still provide a smooth and non-fatiguing ride.
INSERTS
With 5 rows of inserts every 2 cm, this setup is the industry standard and works with all bindings on the market. The middle position is standard.
TRIAX PLUS
As a result of extensive testing with the participation of Nidecker riders and engineers, the Triax laminate is oriented at a 45° angle to the board and contains different fiberglass densities. This provides consistent torsional flex, better pop, and greater responsiveness in every turn.
LIGHT CORE CORE
Nidecker's lightest core - equipped with three different types of wood. The lightweight core is a perfect combination of paulownia for lightness, poplar for pop and responsiveness, and beech reinforcements along the edges for increased core durability, pop, and protection against edge impacts.
SLIDE N-9000
Developed exclusively for Nidecker, the N-9000 is an extremely durable sintered base with added carbon nanoparticles that provide exceptional glide.
