The Cabrinha Drifter is a kite that has already dominated the World Championships in the kite wave discipline several times, which proves its top qualities. It is such a versatile kite that it will satisfy both beginner surfers and more demanding riders who already ride waves well.

In 2020, Cabrinha kites used a completely new super-durable and ultra-light NANO RIPSTOP material. Nano Ripstop is a material with a weight of 55 g / m2 with double fiber reinforcement in 3 mm grids; combined with a newly developed coating, it gave us a 2x increase in tear resistance. The smaller, tighter “grid” significantly increases the number of “cells” in a given panel.

The introduction of the new material not only significantly improves the durability and lifespan of the material, but also greatly improves the stiffness of the canopy, which translates into increased kite performance. The Dacron was also changed to a stiffer one, which will additionally improve the durability of the seams.

In short, the result is a well-balanced, lightweight and stiff material that retains its properties for longer. The biggest challenge was improving durability without making the material heavier.
