Do you feel like levitating over the waves? Foilboarding is an activity that has more and more fans and is gaining increasing popularity. It is chosen by people looking for strong sensations, as well as those who enjoy adrenaline. Foil windsurfing requires assembling the right equipment, which consists of several elements. To a significant extent, these determine whether it will be easy for you to master the basics of foilboarding technique and develop more and more with each subsequent attempt.

Foil windsurfing, or mast and wing as the absolute foundation

The foil mast is the element that catches the eye first. How high we can rise depends on its length. Moreover, it is this feature that determines the minimum depth of the body of water in which this activity will be possible. To start with, a shorter mast will work better, which affects the greater stability of the entire windsurfing foil. Attention should also be paid to the wing and its shape. In this case, we are dealing with the AR indicator. If it is high, the wing is thin and wide; if it is low, the wing is thick and narrow. If you are just starting out, choose a wing with a low AR, as it will be easier for you to control it. Wings are made from various materials, including aluminum and carbon. Aluminum ones are characterized by greater weight, while carbon ones are lighter and provide precise feedback. This is due to their very good vibration-damping properties.

Which board?

Foil windsurfing also consists of a board. We attach the wing foil wing to it. For beginners, we recommend windsurf boards with greater buoyancy, as this definitely makes it easier to get them planing and then, of course, into a state of levitation.
