NeilPryde has always prioritized engineering excellence. performance, innovation, and high-quality, durable products. The first NeilPryde wing, developed over two years, pushes the limits again.

The FLY was created by carefully researching the technical evolution of wingfoiling down to the tiniest detail and fine-tuning all of the set screws, as well as employing only the most tried-and-true materials. The first NeilPryde wing incorporates several unique features and advancements thanks to former sail designer and Americas Cup foil engineer Nils Rosenblad and the entire design team. Several of these modest technical innovations—not evident at first—make the difference here. Born from an engineer, sailmaker, and flow expert's uncompromising view of the Wing.

From the start, they knew they couldn't treat a Wing like a kite without lines but had to tailor all designcharacteristics to its high-performance needs. The main idea behind the Fly is the High Lift Coefficient. Each size of the Wing has been refined and tweaked to create greater lift, thrust, and minimise drag than comparable wings. This makes the Fly easier to fly, more comfortable, and more portable.

These high-aspect wings have a broad wing tip span. Its dihedral leading edge keeps the wing tips from touching the water. High canopy tension in the front of the wing generates the extraordinarily powerful thrust, ensuring a stable profile and excellent airflow over the wing even at very high angles of attack.

The Trailing Edge appears loose, but when powered up, it creates the flattest back profile to convert pressure into thrust and control gusts. Composite battens improve the flat trailing edge and reduce flutter. Staggered Material Weights in Leading Edge and Strut reinforce the material where needed to support load and provide necessary stiffness. The areas with less load around the tips remain lighter and more flexible. Which not only gives a much lighter feel, but also reduces drag and increases maneuverability due to the thin, angled tips.

The Wing is flown as far away from the body as possible thanks to the design of the middle strut and its unique handle shape. Not only to avoid strong turbulences around the body, but also to make handling and pumping more efficient. Our handles also have numerous additional upgrades.

NeilPryde tested and refined their valves. The innovative Push Valves pass more air in less time and display the pressure without flickering. The two independent bladders promote safety and prevent the strut bladder from expanding the front tube bladder and losing pressure and rigidity as needed. Finished off with many additional tiny and large elements, such as the backpack-style bag with helmet, pump holder, and foil carry cushioning, and delivered with our incredibly functional Dyneema Rope Leash with anti-tangling swivel and the best available "made in Germany" bladders with Anti-Twist system.

Features and Innovations

High-Lift Coefficient Concept - Each wing delivers the most thrust (power and acceleration) for its size due to optimized LE geometry and entrance shaping. This greatly enhances range, allowing riders to employ a smaller wing than usual in each condition. Easy handling and improved maneuverability are the results.

Performance Driven Static Tension Distribution - On the beach, NP wings have a canopy tension distribution similar to a windsurf sail, with maximum tension forward that gradually relaxes towards the trailing edge. Once loaded, the wing has a better flying shape with a crisp trailing edge and camber that stays locked forward.

Modified Delta Planform — Improves upwind performance and control with a more efficient LE shape and elliptical spanwise lift distribution.

Dihedral Front Profile -  The dihedral angle makes the upper part of the wing more vertical during straight-line flight, which improves performance and enables greater aspect ratios due to increased wingtip clearance. It also makes the wing very roll stable, especially when flagging.

Low Drag Wingtips with Linear Washout – The small LE diameter at the wingtips reduces drag and allows dynamic twist. This enhances control when powered up as well as low end acceleration when pumping.

Vented Strut - The pressure on the two sides of the wing can be equalized thanks to the large opening between the LE and the front of the fill panel (which connects the canopy to the strut). This boosts performance and wing stability.

High Tension Canopy with Structured Camber Lens - A sequence of transverse panels that converge at the wingtips define the 3D geometry of the leading edge of the high tension canopy with a structured camber lens. The Leading Edge Tube structure maximizes tension in the vital entrance areas, resulting in more lift and a higher stall angle for improved acceleration in light winds and the ability to fly efficiently at low angles of attack for better control and higher top speeds in strong winds.

Transverse Canopy Paneling — Matching the canopy panel threadlines to the load path stabilizes the flying shape and increases canopy longevity.

Integral Batten System—sewn-in composite battens generate a flat, fast trailing edge with minimal flutter.

Staggered Material Weights on LE - An ultra-light, high-tenacity woven polyester is used at the wingtips and back of the strut, resulting in a very light "feel" due to the lower swing weight.

Boundary Panel on Canopy Perimeter – The canopy structure is reinforced with a tough high tenacity rip stop frame that runs down the middle, out the trailing edges to the wingtips and then follows the LE tube back to the center for maximum strength and durability.

Rigid Tubular Handles with Proprietary Base System – Boost roll comfort and control while offering the ideal framework for a harness line.

Ergonomic Design – The handle bases integrate seamlessly into the strut, while the arc of the handle plane minimises fatigue and positions the wing at the optimum flight angle.

Integral Impact Protection – The curved front handle has a bumper under the EVA grip to protect you and your board from impact

Drop Grip Front Handle - the vertical part on the forward handle allows the rider to fly the wing further from his body, increasing efficiency and wingtip clearance. Its roll control makes it excellent for flagging and waveriding.

Calibrated Handle Locations - each wingsize has grips equidistant from the center of effort for effortless balanced flight. The longer handles on the larger wings provide the rider more leeway in terms of hand placement, allowing them to optimize their positioning for maximum power and minimum fatigue.

PVC Windows with Structural Elements - High-quality polished PVC windows maximize visibility, while internal reinforcements handle transverse loads to prevent canopy distortion and strain.

Separate LE and Strut valves - the partition promotes safety by having two air chambers, stiffens the leading edge (because the Strut cannot operate as an expansion chamber), and deflates the wing faster.

Air Separation

Fast Inflation/Deflation Push Valve

Characteristics

High Lift Coefficient Concept

High Lift Coefficient Concept

Each wing generates maximum thrust (power and acceleration) for its size due to refined LE geometry and entry shaping. This dramatically increases range, allowing riders to use a smaller wing than usual in each set of conditions. Easy handling and improved maneuverability are the results.

High Tension Canopy with Structured Camber Lens

A set of transverse panels that converge at the wingtips form the 3D geometry of the canopy leading edge. As a result, there is more lift and a higher stall angle for better acceleration in light winds, and the ability to fly effectively at low angles of attack for better control and higher top speeds in strong winds.

Integral Batten System

Integral Batten System

Composite battens that have been sewn into place produce a flat, quick trailing edge with very little flutter.

Staggered Material Weights on LE

The use of an ultra-light, high-tenacity woven polyester at the wingtips and back of strut results in a very light ‘feel’ due to reduced swing weight.

Vented Strut

The large opening between the LE and the front of the fill panel (which connects the canopy to the strut) allows the pressure to equalize across the two sides of the wing. This improves overall performance and makes the wing even more stable.
